Connecting Strava
Pull your runs, rides, swims, and athlete profile from Strava into Voya.
Strava is the second wearable-and-workout source Voya can read, alongside Garmin Connect. The connection is OAuth-based, so you authorize Voya on Strava's own site and we never see your password.
How to connect
- Go to Profile → Integrations in the app.
- Click Connect next to Strava.
- Strava's login page opens. Sign in if needed, then click Authorize.
- You bounce back to Voya, the connection turns green.
What gets pulled
When you ask the coach for Strava data ("pull my recent rides", "what did I do this week on Strava"), Voya fetches recent activities and writes them to your workout history. Each pull includes:
- Activity type, distance, duration, calories
- Heart-rate avg/max, kudos count, and any segments
- Your current FTP and weight from your Strava athlete profile
Voya only pulls when you ask. Nothing happens automatically in the background.
What about duplicates with Garmin or Apple Health?
If a run or ride synced to both Strava and Garmin (or your Apple Watch wrote it to all three), Voya keeps each copy by design. We don't guess which source you prefer.
To clean up duplicates, open the workout detail page and tap Delete workout, or tell the coach in chat ("delete the duplicate ride from Sunday").
Disconnecting
In Profile → Integrations, tap Disconnect on the Strava row. Voya forgets your OAuth token immediately. To fully revoke at Strava's end too, go to strava.com/settings/apps and revoke Voya.
Privacy
Voya stores your Strava OAuth token encrypted (AES-256-GCM) so it can refresh activity data when you ask. We never share it, and we delete it the moment you disconnect.
